Pre Birmingham MCM Comic Con

Sarah Fogg and I will have a table in the Comic Village at Birmingham MCM Comic Con on Saturday 22nd - Sunday 23rd March. We will both be launching new comics! I think the spring issue for Wha'ts The Time Mrs. Woolf? will be availble.

Giant Rhinos In Space #1 contains the first chapter of a long format comic. You can read most of the first chapter online here. The webcomic updates with 3 new pages every Friday.

Sarah Fogg has printed a complilation of her wordless comics which were origially printed in issues of the Bear Pit zine. I really love all these comics and they work really well as a set.

Sarah and I can confirm that we will also be sharing a table at the following events

Food Anthology - Sammy Borras Design Work

This is something I drew for fun while writing my submission for the food anthology. Some of the characters have appeared in a webcomic short story called Smoothie Wars

These are some more of the character sheets I was pleased with

I think this is the first time I've needed to create 'cake sheets' for a comic. This food anthology just makes me want to eat cake every day.

Thanks again for reading, I'll have more design work from the rest of the group as soon as I can.

Cleaner Sky

This is our final preview page from the new anthology Science Fiction Octuple Feature by Gemma Sheldrake. The rest of the short story features a great alien/monster character design that I really like. Gem has been hard at work recently updating her The Wastelands webcomic. Unfortunately she wont be at Thought Bubble in person this year but we will have a limited amount of copies of a printed version of The Wastelands on our table.

You will be able to find us this weekend on table 75 in the Saviles Hall at Thought Bubble this year. That's in the far right aisle as you enter the hall. Click here for the floor plan.

The table will have all our anthologies that are currently in stock and a great variety of comics, post cards, stickers, badges, handmade sketch books by individual members of the group.

See you there!

Webcomics - The Wastelands and Instant Comics

Hello again, a couple of members are working on webcomics at the moment so I thought I should link you up to them.

The Wastelands

"This is a personal driven project I'll be doing to keep myself busy and not to rust out now that my university course is finishing. To improve on environments (Which I have such a crush for) and practice colouring. The comic's probably going to be updated weekly, maybe several times a week depending on how busy I am. But feel free to watch my Twitter for updates or subscribe here and on Smackjeeves where it will be posted!" (Petitecreme blog, 2011)
It's exciting to see more of Gem's comics online to reach a wider audience. You can find more of Gem's work on her Petitecreme art blog.

Instant Comics

Instant Comics is actually a collection of short stories instead of a particular series. Theres several stories already online in the archives. I use the webcomic as a way to try different art and story telling styles. I am starting a new story this Friday (27th May) called Moth Eyes, about a recent sleep walking experience I had.
